H. E. Jose Miquel Insulza, Secretary General of OAS (Organization of American States) met with Hon. Mr. Sato Kilman, Deputy Prime Minister of Vanuatu in New York. Mr. Secretary General also extended its official welcome and invitation to the Government of Vanuatu as observer of OAS.

The Honorable Mr. Sato Kilman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vanuatu, and the Honorable Mr. K. P. Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affair of the Kingdom of Nepal, signed official agreement on Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Vanuatu and Nepal. Ambassador David Gonla Wu, Deputy Permanent Representative of Vanuatu, and Ambassador Madhu Raman Acharya, Permanent Representative of Nepal, both witnessed the ceremony in New York.

The Honorable Mr. Sato Kilman, Deputy Prime Minister of Vanuatu, received donation of 500 soccer balls for Vanuatu Youth Sports Project from Stanley and Kenny (two Asian-American students) in California. Mr. George Maniuri, Director-General of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Benlamin Shing, Director of Finance, both attended the ceremony.

The Honorable Sato Kilman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affair of the Republic of Vanuatu, led an official Vanuatu delegation to attend 2005 United Nations summit meeting in New York, and also appointed Ambassador David G. Wu as Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Vanuatu to the United Nations in 2005.
